SEND and SEMH Tutor; KS1-KS4

Overview

Teacher Active is seeking enthusiastic and professional tutors to support schools in Liverpool. We work with children services and inclusive learning services to enable Looked After Children to make progress in line with their peers.

As a tutor you will provide learning assistance for young people preparing for exams or re‑adjusting to mainstream education, with a focus on delivering core skills in English, Maths and behaviour. Work can be full‑time or part‑time based on your preference.

• Work one‑to‑one with pupils to support academic progress.
• Help students achieve exam readiness and re‑integration into school.
• Apply positive behaviour strategies and aid self‑regulation of emotions.
• Support vulnerable children in the care system and those with SEN.

• At least 6 months experience within an educational environment.
• Experience supporting pupils on a 1‑1 basis.
• A passion for making a difference to young people’s learning.
• Ability to apply positive behaviour strategies and help children self‑regulate emotions.
• Understanding and appreciation of working with vulnerable young people in the care system and those with SEN.
