Be a catalyst for change as an Indigenous Advisor and Liaison. Facilitate relationships that enhance educational pathways for Indigenous learners and support community engagement initiatives.
Reporting to leadership, this role is crucial in fostering partnerships with First Nations and Métis communities. You'll provide insight into cultural considerations, ensuring college programs reflect community needs. Engage with local leadership to co-design relevant initiatives and contribute to local educational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborate to develop Indigenous-focused initiatives
• Liaise with community leaders and college staff
• Offer cultural guidance for program development
• Facilitate participatory meetings and events
• Support outreach to Indigenous organizations and learners
Requirements:
• Two-year diploma in Indigenous studies or related fields
• Minimum 3 years' experience with Indigenous groups
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Familiarity with local Indigenous cultures and issues
• Valid driver's license required
Guide Indigenous learners towards success by building culturally sensitive educational frameworks and partnerships.
