English and Social Studies Teacher

Location: Drayton Valley

Join St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Schools as a High School English and Social Studies teacher at Holy Trinity Academy in Drayton Valley, Alberta. This full-time temporary role spans from August 26, 2026, to May 25, 2027.

In this position, you will teach high school English and Social Studies courses. Prior experience in extra-curricular and co-curricular programs will be a considerable advantage, enabling enriched student involvement and learning. Applicants should embrace a commitment to Catholic teachings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide instruction in English and Social Studies curriculum

• Lead co-curricular and extra-curricular student programs

• Develop engaging lesson plans and teaching materials

• Cultivate an engaging and supportive classroom atmosphere

• Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance teaching

Requirements:

• Certification in Catholic Education preferred

• Up-to-date criminal record check with a vulnerable sector search

• Recent Alberta Children’s Services Intervention Record check

• Two reference letters, ideally including a pastoral reference

• Passion for fostering student development and community engagement
