Join Sturgeon Public Schools as a Part-Time Indigenous Learning Coach, enhancing educational experiences for Indigenous students. Support cultural understanding and promote student success in community-focused schools.
This temporary role works directly with teachers, students, and Indigenous communities to integrate Indigenous knowledge into K-12 education. Your passion for Indigenous education and ability to collaborate will help reduce barriers and foster a culturally responsive environment. Engage with students and parents through community outreach and collaborative initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
• Integrate Indigenous knowledge into all grade levels
• Facilitate cultural awareness through presentations
• Support engagement with Indigenous communities
• Establish trusting relationships with students and parents
• Collaborate with educators for professional development
Requirements:
• Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
• Experience with Indigenous heritage and cultures
• Knowledge of historical impacts on Indigenous communities
• Ability to foster positive relationships and advocacy
• Proficiency in Google Classroom and Zoom
