Sturgeon Public Schools is seeking a Part-Time Temporary High School Teacher to support students at the Morinville Learning Centre and Sturgeon Learning Centre. This role is ideal for an educator who thrives in flexible, student‑centred learning environments and enjoys working one‑on‑one or in small groups to support academic success.
The Morinville Learning Centre, located at Sturgeon Public Schools’ Central Office, supports students in Grades 8–12 who require individualized tutoring, upgrading, or the opportunity to repeat courses. Programming is flexible, with attendance and pacing designed around each student’s unique needs.
The Sturgeon Learning Centre, located in Gibbons, is an alternative high school serving students in Grades 8–12. Students earn credits through a personalized approach that includes in‑person instruction, one‑on‑one support, and remote learning using Google Meet, email, and phone communication.
What You’ll Be Doing- Provide daily High School Physics, Math, and Biology instruction and academic support through one‑on‑one and small‑group learning
- Develop and deliver module‑based Junior High and High School Math programming
- Support students in alternative and outreach‑style learning environments
- Supervise Provincial Achievement Tests and Diploma Exams
- Use technology to engage, communicate with, and support students both in person and remotely
- A valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
- Experience teaching Physics 20/30, Math 31, Biology 30, and other science and math courses as assigned
- Experience in an outreach or alternative learning setting is an asset
- Proficient teaching in an online
- Google Classroom
