NAIT Welding Program – Instructional Coordinator

Job Overview
Seeking an energetic, empathetic instructor skilled in welding theory and practical instruction to support student success in NAIT’s welding program. Responsibilities include curriculum development, instructional delivery, assessment, and participation in program operations.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and present learning outcomes and activities in classroom and laboratory settings

Organize and supervise practical assignments

Facilitate the learning process using instructional strategies for effective delivery

Manage instructional delivery and maintain a safe, effective learning environment

Evaluate learning and provide meaningful feedback to studentsli>Respond to student issues

Utilize appropriate educational technology for presentations, communications, and program promotions

Maintain professional and ethical relationships with students and colleagues

Participate in strategies of NAIT’s Academic Model as identified by the institute

Use student feedback to identify and implement instructional improvement

Improve instruction quality through professional development activities

Participate in course reviews, program reviews and curriculum development

Maintain contact with relevant industries

Skills & Abilities

Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to build positive relationships with diverse learners and colleagues

Strong commitment to student success, motivating learners and supporting achievement

Exceptional written and verbal communication suitable for instructional, advisory, and collaborative settings

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and related educational technologies

Proficient with welding processes: SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, GTAW, AQC/AQW, MCAW, SAW

Proficient in delivery of welding theory and related subject matter

Qualifications

High School Diploma

Completion of Alberta Welding Journeyperson certificate or provincial equivalent

Inter-Provincial Red Seal preferred

Alberta B-Pressure Welders qualification an asset

Minimum 5 years of recent industry experience after Journeyperson certification

Welding in pressure vessel and piping industry an asset

Previous instructional experience an asset

Flexible schedule as operational needs require

Classification
This position is covered by the NAIT Academic Staff Association (NASA) Collective Agreement.

Remuneration and Benefits
Salary range: $69,189.78 – $, commensurate with education and experience. Part‑time positions prorated based on FTE. Benefits include comprehensive package, paid vacation, paid time off between Christmas and New Year’s, work‑life balance initiatives, professional development, and health & wellness benefits.
