Key Responsibilities
Prepare and present learning outcomes and activities in a classroom, virtual, laboratory and industry setting
Participate in curriculum development, program reviews and course reviews
Facilitate the learning process by utilizing instructional strategies that ensure efficient and effective delivery of course materials
Manage instructional delivery and set the tone and climate for a safe and effective learning environment
Create assessment tools to evaluate the learning process and maintain progress records
Provide early and on‑going coaching and tutoring for students to maximize student success and retention
Respond to student issues
Utilize appropriate educational technology for presentations, communications and program promotions
Maintain and/or submit program/student records accurately and promptly
Maintain professional and ethical relationships with students, colleagues, and industry partners
Actively participate in the strategies of NAIT’s Strategic Plan and Academic Plan as identified by the institute
Utilize regular student feedback to identify and implement instructional improvement
Improve the quality of instruction through professional development activities
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
High School Diploma
Completion of Alberta Sheet Metal Worker Journeyperson certificate or provincial equivalent required
Inter‑Provincial Red Seal preferred
Minimum 5 years recent industry experience after completion of Journeyperson certificate or provincial equivalent
Additional relevant post‑secondary education and/or professional development training is an asset
Teaching experience is an asset
HRAI Experience would be preferred
Custom shop and residential appliance service experience considered an asset
Residential service and refrigeration is an asset
Applicants with education credentials earned outside of Canada should have their credentials evaluated by WES, IQAS, or CES.
Classification – Instructor
This position is covered by the NAIT Academic Staff Association (NASA) Collective Agreement.
Remuneration
Compensation range $69,189.78 - $, including a comprehensive benefits package; salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
