Position: Academic Teaching Staff (ATS )

Location: In-person at North Campus Edmonton.

Position: Full-time, one-year Academic Teaching Staff (ATS) position in the Department of Cell Biology.

Responsibilities
  • Teach courses such as cell differentiation, intracellular and extracellular signaling, the cell cycle, apoptosis and necrosis at advanced undergraduate (3rd and 4th year) levels.
  • Teach advanced cell biology or organelles courses.
  • Teach general topics in molecular cell biology at the 2nd year level.
  • Teach applications of modern cell biology techniques, including cell growth, microscopy, and genetic manipulation in a lab environment.
  • Coordinate courses, revise curriculum, and develop course materials as needed.
Qualifications
  • Ph.D. degree with a focus in molecular cell biology.
  • Extensive experience in a laboratory environment.
  • Preference for candidates with an advanced degree and/or extensive experience in teaching cell biology.
  • Proven post‑secondary teaching experience is considered.

Start Date: August 1, 2026.

Benefits and Compensation: Salary will be commensurate with experience in accordance with Schedule D of the Collective Agreement between the Board of Governors of the University of Alberta and the Association of the Academic Staff of the University of Alberta.
