The Opportunity

Parkland School Division is currently hiring Casual Support Staff for positions across all PSD locations for the upcoming  school year. Available (on an as-needed basis) roles include:

  • Education Assistants
Casual Support Positions Overview:
Education Assistant

Education Assistants work with teaching staff to support students with diverse abilities and unique needs, including autism, behavioral challenges, mental health issues, and physical health concerns.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate positive interactions among students, staff, and the community
  • Supervise and monitor student conduct
  • Assist with physical tasks, including lifting and transferring students
  • Support students during break periods and bus arrival/departure
Education & Experience:
  • Diploma or Certificate in Child and Youth Care or Education Assistance (preferred)
  • Experience working with children with communication delays and challenging behaviors
  • First-Aid Level I and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention certification (asset)
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
