In this fulfilling role, you'll be matched with a child, participating in structured 20-minute intervals focusing on relationship building, academic support, and enjoyable activities. By volunteering, you're not only making a profound impact on a child's educational experience but also enhancing your own well-being and perspective on life.
Key Responsibilities:
• Mentor one child in a partner school weekly
• Follow the 20-20-20 structured approach during sessions
• Facilitate discussions and build rapport for 20 minutes
• Assist with reading and homework for another 20 minutes
• Engage in fun activities for the final 20 minutes
Requirements:
• Minimum age of 16 years
• Undergo background checks for safety
• Complete a screening interview and training
• Achieve Alberta Mentoring Partnership Certification
• Commit throughout the school year
