Temporary Child's Program Coordinator Position

Drive children's learning as a temporary Child's Program Coordinator at city public libraries until October 31, 2026. Help deliver educational programming from preschool to Grade 8/9 effectively.

In this temporary position, you will coordinate and implement children’s programs, support library services, and manage the circulation desk. Reporting to the Branch Manager, your role entails providing reference services and utilizing information technology strategies. You'll offer leadership and assist in staff orientation while collaborating with the Adult's Program Coordinator in their absence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate programming for children from preschool to Grade 9

• Manage circulation desk and assist patrons

• Implement technology strategies and support library functions

• Provide leadership and training to library staff

• Collaborate with the Adult's Program Coordinator

Requirements:

• Degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE III) or equivalent

• 3 to 5 years in relevant educational roles

• Strong independent judgment and initiative

• Knowledge of electronic information systems

• Excellent public interaction skills

Promote educational programming and foster community engagement through library services geared towards children.
