Teaching Artist Woodwinds - YONA

Position: Teaching Artist for Woodwinds - YONA
Make a meaningful difference as a Teaching Artist for Woodwinds with the YONA-Sistema program in Edmonton, Alberta, from September 2026 to June 2027. Engage youth through music in an inclusive environment.

In this part-time role, you will provide instrumental music education to up to 20 students during after-school hours. This includes rehearsing and preparing students for concerts while fostering collaboration within the YONA team. Your contributions will help shape positive experiences in the community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide woodwind education to student groups

• Lead rehearsals and coordinate performances

• Support students with academic and social challenges

• Work collaboratively with educational teams

• Uphold values of equity and inclusion in teaching

Requirements:

• Advanced training in Woodwinds (clarinet and/or flute)

• Preferred education in music performance or education

• Group teaching experience with children

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite

• Clean criminal record check with vulnerable sector screening
