Location: St. Albert

Part‑Time French & English Teacher/Tutor

We are currently seeking part‑time teacher‑tutors for a role in our learning centre at Oxford Learning St. Albert. This position is perfect for anyone who loves working with students, enjoys teaching the ins and outs of language, and is passionate about helping others build their skills in this area.

  • Pay: $17.00 per hour
  • Location:

    In‑person at Oxford Learning St. Albert, 107‑1 Hebert Road, St. Albert, AB
  • Must be able to commute to the St. Albert area; relocation packages not available
  • Vulnerable sector screening mandatory
  • Role will continue through summer if desired
Position Requirements
  • Work hours:

    3:30 pm – 7:00 pm after‑school and evenings, and some Saturdays (10:00 am – 3:00 pm)
  • Commitment until the end of the term in June is preferred; continuing through the summer is even better
  • In‑person only; not an online position
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field
  • Fourth‑year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
  • Teaching certification an asset
  • Good knowledge of the current kindergarten to Grade 12 curriculum
Experience
  • Some experience teaching or tutoring at a Kindergarten to Grade 12 (or equivalent) level
  • Strong English written and oral communication skills and ability to guide students' understanding
  • Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time
Responsibilities (Position Details)
  • Teach up to three students at a time at different levels
  • Follow the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies
  • Fill in post‑lesson notes and complete daily student communication updates
  • Maintain a friendly and professional manner at all times
  • Optional:
    Support online instruction as needed, though the primary role is in‑person
