The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Alberta invites applications for a faculty position in Engineering Education, Communication and AI-Enabled Learning at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or full Professor.

This position represents a strategic investment in advancing the future of engineering education at the University of Alberta. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping how engineers learn, communicate, and practice in an era of artificial intelligence, digital collaboration, and rapidly evolving societal challenges.

The successful candidate will contribute to teaching and scholarship at the intersection of engineering pedagogy and communication, while shaping institutional approaches to engineering education innovation, curriculum evolution, and AI-integrated learning environments. This position offers flexibility to develop a research program in areas such as: engineering rhetoric and technical communication; learning and pedagogy in the era of large language models (LLMs) and generative AI;

AI-enabled tools in engineering practice and education; curriculum design and assessment in engineering; or the intersection of engineering communication with policy, regulation, sustainability, climate change, and societal impact. We seek a collaborative scholar and educator whose work advances how engineers learn, communicate, and engage with emerging technologies.
