We are currently seeking part-time teacher-tutors for roles in our learning centre for the current/upcoming school year. If you love working with students, enjoy teaching language skills, and want to help others build their academic confidence, this position is perfect for you.
We welcome university students looking for flexibly scheduled part-time evening work.
Position OverviewImportant Note on Starting
Hours:
Because we are a brand-new business launching our centre, teaching hours will not be available right away. Hours are student-dependent; it can take anywhere from 2 to 3 weeks up to a month to build up your hours as we enrol new students.
As a Teacher-Tutor at Oxford Learning, you will have the opportunity to work with Elementary students in reading, writing, math and French and/or with High School students in math (through Calculus), physics, chemistry, biology, and English. Our Teacher-Tutors do not have to worry about lesson planning, as all lessons are pre-planned. You will be fully trained in our proprietary philosophy and methods, allowing you to focus on what you do best – teaching!
WeAre Specifically Looking To Hire
- Elementary Educator:
Someone with experience teaching kids and building foundational skills. - High School Educator:
Someone with experience teaching high schoolers who is also great at high school math, English, and social studies.
- Availability during after-school and evening hours (4:00 pm - 8:00 pm) and Saturdays/Sundays
- Commitment through to the end of the school year (June 30th), with the possibility of continuing through the summer.
- This role is in-person. You must be able to commute to this location. This is not an online position. Relocation packages are not available.
- Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.
- Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field
- Ongoing post-secondary studies through any faculty, or relevant teaching background
- Working towards or having a teaching certification is an asset
Starting at $17, paid training while in-center! Career Growth:
There is significant opportunity to grow with us. As the business expands, we will also be looking for someone to fill a management position, which comes with higher pay and leadership responsibilities Responsibilities
- Teach up to 3 students at a time in Elementary grades or up to 2 students at a time in High School grades
- Follow the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies
- Complete daily student communication updates and monthly progress reports
- Maintain a friendly, professional, and fun learning environment
