Preschool Teacher Assistant

RLC is looking for a Christian Preschool Teacher Assistant for the  school year. The Teacher Assistant, under the direction of the Lead Preschool Teacher, RCP Administrator and a committee of members from Riverbend Lutheran Church, will assist in planning, implementing and evaluating an emergent curriculum in accordance with the purpose and philosophy of Riverbend Christian Preschool. The Teacher Assistant will assist the Lead Teacher in setting up an environment to nurture children’s disposition to learn and in being active participants in the children’s learning.

Candidates will:

• Hold a Level 2 Early Childhood Education certificate through the Government of Alberta (or be in the process of obtaining this).
• Have a minimum of two years’ experience working with preschool-aged children.
• Have a current Standard Child Care First Aid certificate.
• Have a current clear criminal record check including vulnerable sector search.
• Have a committed Christian faith and the ability to demonstrate Christian values and the law and gospel message.
• Have a disposition of love and respect for children and their families and be energetic and enthusiastic about creating a safe classroom space, building relationships and designing learning opportunities.

20-30 hours per week, with the possibility of more, should enrollment require it.
