Lead the University of Alberta’s Department of Drama in Edmonton through collaborative leadership, teaching, programming, and arts management.
This tenured Chair appointment is at the Associate or Full Professor rank. The department offers liberal arts and conservatory programs across acting, design, technical theatre, directing, voice pedagogy, theatre practice, and performance studies. The successful candidate will support the department’s standing within the University, Canada, and internationally.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide collaborative leadership for the Department of Drama
- Teach in the candidate’s area of specialization
- Manage Timms Centre for the Arts
- Oversee Studio Theatre programming
- Foster diversity, inclusion, and interdisciplinary collaboration
- Terminal MFA or PhD in theatre or related field
- Professional theatre experience
- University-level administrative and teaching experience
- Artistic or scholarly record meeting tenure standards
- Associate or Full Professor qualifications
