Teacher - Bilingual Language Programming; Kindergarten to Grade 12

Working within a variety of diverse learning environments under the guidance of the Principal and in accordance with the Education Act, Teacher Qualification Standards (TQS) and Edmonton Public Schools policy and regulations, successful candidates will

• support student instruction with up to 50% of the school day being taught in one of the following languages:
  American Sign Language, Arabic, French, German, Hebrew, Mandarin, and Spanish
• build positive and productive relationships with students, parents/guardians, peers and others in the school to support student learning
• engage in career-long professional learning and critical reflection to improve teaching and learning
• apply a current and comprehensive repertoire of effective planning, instruction and assessment practices to meet the learning needs of students
• establish, promote and sustain inclusive learning environments where diversity is embraced and every student is welcomed, cared for, respected and safe
• develop and apply foundational knowledge about First Nations, Métis and Inuit for the benefit of all students
• demonstrate an understanding and adhere to the legal frameworks and policies that provide the foundations for the Alberta education system

• valid Alberta Teaching Certificate please refer to the Alberta Education website for more information on this process
• Bachelor of Education Degree and/or course work and experience teaching in one of the identified languages
• advanced to superior proficiency in one of the target languages Language Proficiency Descriptors
