Gas Plant Operator; Redwater

Overview

An established energy operator is seeking a Gas Plant Operator to support day‑to‑day operations at an NGL fractionation facility. The ideal candidate will hold a Class 4 Power Engineering certificate with 5+ years of experience, or a Class 3 certificate with 4+ years of experience. Direct gas plant experience is not required but is considered an asset.

• Operate and monitor process equipment within an NGL fractionation environment.
• Perform routine field rounds, equipment checks, and operational adjustments.
• Execute LOTO procedures, isolations, and equipment de‑energization.
• Issue, receive, and manage permit‑to‑work (hot work, confined space, line breaking, etc.).
• Support secure start‑up, shutdown, and emergency procedures.
• Maintain accurate logs, shift notes, and operational records.
• Troubleshoot process and equipment issues and elevate when required.
• Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and field operations teams.
• Participate in safety meetings, hazard assessments, and toolbox talks.
• Support training, competency development, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, environmental, and internal standards.

• Class 4 Power Engineer with ~5+ years of experience.
• Or Class 3 Power Engineer with ~5+ years of experience.
• Experience in NGL fractionation, gas processing, or hydrocarbon operations is an asset.
• Strong understanding of LOTO and isolation procedures, permit‑to‑work systems, process equipment, and safety systems.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
• Strong safety mindset and operational discipline.
