Summary
The Senior Mine Geologist will report to the Chief Mine Geologist. The general scope of this position will be the evaluation and modelling of geological and structural data, resource model estimation and validation, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimized ore production and mine development. The Senior Mine Geologist will also assist with managing the annual drilling project and is responsible for the supervision of the Mine Geologists.

The Keno Hill mine is located within the Keno Hill Silver District in Canada’s Yukon Territory. Keno Hill, one of the highest-grade silver districts in the world, is situated 350 kilometres north of Whitehorse, within the traditional territory of the First Nation of Na-Cho Nyak Dun. The mine covers 242 square kilometres and includes numerous mineral deposits and more than 35 historical past‑producing mine sites.

Keno Hill is expected to produce 2.7‑3.1 million ounces of silver in 2025 as the mine ramps up production.

Here’s What You Can Expect In This Role

Respect, know, and promote regulation and policies regarding health and safety

Develop and validate 3D models of geology and mineralization controls to support the mine design using datasets that integrate drilling and mapping data

Analyze and validate data for use in the development of geological models and resource estimation

Develop Mineral Resource and Mineral Reserve estimate to support mining activities

Build interpretive geologic cross‑sections and level plans

Provide technical support to Mine Planning and Mine Operations groups to ensure optimized mine planning and development

Build and maintain collaborative partnership with Exploration, Mine Planning, Mill, and Mine Operation groups

Prepare technical reports and communicate findings of investigation and technical analysis

Perform the reconciliation of the Mine and Mill data with the Mine and resource model data

Support the annual definition and grade control drilling project

Supervise, mentor, and train the Mine geologists / Geologist in training

Supervise the other duties may be assigned

Help promote a strong environmental culture

Help foster a strong safety culture

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science degree in Geology or closely related field, with 8+ years of applied geology experience in an underground mine

At least 2 years of 3D geological modelling experience

Conversant in the geology of structurally complex narrow veined precious metal deposit is an asset

Must have Professional Geologist designation (P. Geo.) or be eligible to be registered as a Professional Geologist

Prior experience supervising Geologists/Geologist in Training is an asset

Collaborative team player who works well in multidisciplinary teams

Good understanding of industry best practices for the collection and verification of geologic data

Proficiency in the use of Leapfrog, Deswik, ac Quire, and Geospark is an asset

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

Pre‑Employment Requirements

Pre‑Employment Testing (drug & alcohol, blood lead, and audiogram)

Valid Class 5 Driver’s License

Clean Driver’s Abstract
