Tailoring our approach to the specific nature of the development, we meticulously prepare engineering documents necessary for submission. These documents serve as a testament to our unwavering commitment to adhere to municipal design standards and criteria, assuring the municipality that the proposed development won't adversely affect adjacent properties or downstream infrastructure.
Embedded within Egis’s land development process is a thorough assessment of natural features on each site. Our meticulous plans are designed to minimize environmental impacts while ensuring the sustainable development of your project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Designing and drafting of engineering/construction drawings for various land development projects;
- Creating plans, profiles and 3-D drawings in civil 3D format;
- Interpreting and implementing standards from regulatory bodies;
- Producing written reports for development projects;
- Producing design spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel;
- Enhancing data charts and tables for presentation;
- Producing and modifying drawings;
- Maintaining positive client relationships with internal and external stakeholders;
- Providing site supervision on construction projects; and
- Keeping up to date on the latest design tools and aids in CAD/Civil3D in consultation with senior CAD staff.
The ideal candidate will have the following background, skills and attributes:
- Completion of a college diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, Engineering Design Technology, or similar.
- Up to 5 years of industry experience with focus on land development or municipal engineering design and construction.
- Proficiency working with design tools such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
- Experience working with Projectwise, BIM
360, Procore, Sharepoint or other cloud-based platforms is considered an asset. - Well-developed computer and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of or experience in the field on construction projects would be an asset.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
- Strong attention to detail, problem solving skills and ability to think creatively.
- Ability to work with engineers on multidisciplinary development projects.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and have access to a vehicle with valid registration and insurance.
