Engineering Summer Students(#26-18)
Parkland County has an opportunity for two t emporary , full – time Engineering Summer Student positio ns in the Engineering department , working from May 4, 2026 until approximately August 28, 2026 . Reporting to the Asset Management Coordinator, the Engineering Summer Student s will perform duties which include collecting roadway inventory, roadway surface condition data then summarizing field data into an asset management database utilizing mobile hardware .
Th ese position s will be required to utilize database software, Geographic Interface System (GIS) Technology, and other programs to collect, input, analyze, and display data for all asset types as required . Additionally, th ese position s may be required to support project managers in the Engineering department by attending site visits, producing inspection reports, reviewing submittals, and other tasks as needed .
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- High-school Diploma and currently enrolled in an Engineering related post-secondary education program.
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience using Microsoft Office programs with exposure to database and GIS systems.
- Proficient with computer applications and data entry.
- Able to communicate clearly and professionally whilemaintaininga high standard of customer service.
- Demonstrates strong self‑management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasksandmeet deadlines.
- Must have a Class 5 Driver’s License. A current Driver’s Abstract must be provided.
The total rewards package for this position includes:
An hourly rate ofpay of $22.60to $25.38,working
40hours perweek.
