Purpose:
We are currently looking for a to join our Canada West Engineering Team in either Calgary or Edmonton. This position will support materials, corrosion, and welding engineering activities for one major or several smaller sustaining projects, executed by Worley in Canada.
Responsibilities:
Enforce technical competency in adherence to Corporate, local, regulatory codes and standards, adherence to engineering laws and guidelines.
Work through individual projects and/or plays a key role in broader projects, able to resolve inter-discipline, vendor, and client issues with minimal support.
Conduct site visits to operational facilities and participate in meetings at client locations.
Rely on systemic thinking and understanding of broader organizational implications of the work being performed to solve problems.
Support discipline engineers and designers to develop practical and economic designs to achieve Project objectives.
Assist in Preparation and Review of design documentation, such as material selection diagrams, pipe specifications, mill test reports, equipment design criteria, and corrosion control systems.
Provide interdisciplinary input to material selection.
Review discipline Design Criteria for engineering or design activities.
Ensure technical integrity of discipline design deliverables.
Work with other materials engineers in a team environment.
What you will bring
Technical and Industry
Experience:
Experience in Metallurgical/ Mechanical Engineering. Prior experience in refinery, carbon capture and utilization, gas processing, green/blue hydrogen, unconventional oil.
Excellent knowledge of applicable theories, practices, and accepted office procedures.
Relevant experience in Oil and Gas facilities.
Knowledge of ferrous metallurgy, corrosion fundamentals and non-destructive inspection methods.
Adept in data centric engineering.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Strong knowledge of relevant ASME/CSA codes and API, ASTM, NACE and other relevant standards.
Able to perform job walks wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) in an operating facility.
Appropriate NACE certification will be considered an asset.
Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:
Required:
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
Must have BS or MS or PhD in Metallurgical Engineering with extensive experience relevant to various areas of metallurgical and materials engineering activities in Oil & gas industry.
Ability to register as Professional Engineer ( with APEGA is a must.
