Bridge Engineer Entry-Level Position

Join McElhanney as a Junior Bridge Engineer in Edmonton, Alberta, where you will be an essential part of developing innovative bridge solutions.

Your role will focus on inspections and designs that enhance transportation infrastructure.

As part of the Alberta Bridge Group, you will support projects involving bridge culverts and major river crossings, such as the acclaimed Stoney Trail Bridge Twinning. Your tasks will include conducting analyses, preparing cost estimates, and coordinating with various stakeholders on critical projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in bridge inspections and performance assessments

• Contribute to structural design development for bridges

• Conduct technical analyses for hydrotechnical projects

• Prepare cost estimates and assist with contract documents

• Collaborate with team members to fulfill project timelines

Requirements:

• A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is essential

• Must be eligible for E.I.T. with APEGA

• Knowledge of CSA S6 bridge standards is desired

• Familiarity with analytical software like MIDAS

• Experience with TEC hydrotechnical analysis standards preferred
