Hydrotechnical Engineer P.Eng

Onterris seeks an Intermediate Hydrotechnical Engineer to work in Edmonton or Calgary. Drive hydrotechnical designs and influence project outcomes through collaboration with diverse teams.

In this role, you will lead hydrotechnical designs, conduct hazard assessments, and mentor junior engineers. Your technical expertise will be essential as you prepare clear reports and engage with clients and regulatory agencies. Fieldwork of up to 30% involves site reconnaissance and construction support, contributing to practical, safe design solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee hydrotechnical design projects from concept to construction

• Conduct thorough assessments and provide impactful recommendations

• Develop clear technical specifications and reports

• Manage the project lifecycle, scope, schedule, and budget

• Facilitate collaboration among multidisciplinary teams

Requirements:

• Degree in Civil, Environmental, or Water Resources Engineering

• 5+ years of relevant experience in hydrotechnical engineering

• P.Eng. certification in a Canadian province

• Proficiency with hydraulic modeling tools like HEC-RAS

• Valid Class 5 driver’s licence with a clean record
