We are seeking a detail-oriented Roofing Technician / Building Science Technologist to join our team and help solve complex challenges involving existing buildings and facility improvements. In this role, you will apply your technical knowledge to evaluate commercial and residential properties, primarily involving roofing and overall building condition assessments, and support practical design solutions for rehabilitation, repair, and adaptive reuse projects.

The Salary Range for this position is $80,000 - $95,000 and is dependent on education, experience, location and certifications/licensure.
What You’ll Do
Perform roof condition assessments for commercial, institutional and residential facilities, and prepare reports for review by senior leadership team.
Perform pre-start meetings as well as on-site quality observations for ongoing roof replacement projects, complete with reports.
Perform building condition assessments for commercial, institutional and residential facilities, and prepare reports for review by senior leadership team.
Perform pre-start meetings as well as on-site quality observations for ongoing building envelope and related projects, complete with reports.
Assist with leak investigations involving roofs, walls, windows, foundations, and other building envelope components.
Assist in the preparation of reserve fund studies, sketches, details and technical documentation.
Provide project coordination, site measurements, quantity take-offs, light design support, and specification writing assistance.
What We’re Looking For:
Required
Completion of an engineering, engineering technology or technical trade program with a focus on Roofing, Building Science, Civil Engineering, and/or Structural Engineering.
3+ years of experience of relevant project coordination or related technical experience.
Being an ARCA approved roofing inspector with 5+ years of inspection experience would be an asset.
Knowledge of building science principles, construction methods, building systems, and roofing systems.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
This role includes both office and field work, with regular site visits, roof access, ladder use, and local travel.
