Road Use Technician II

Join the City of Edmonton as a Regulated Road Use Technician II, where you'll manage the City's road right-of-way. This role focuses on balancing immediate and long-term transportation needs.

As a part of the Parks and Roads Services, your expertise will be critical in ensuring that road use is properly authorized through permits. You will work closely with utility companies and permit applicants, maintaining compliance with the Traffic Bylaw and other technical standards. This is an essential role for collaborations aiming to enhance public safety and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and authorize road use permits for compliance

• Maintain databases and GIS maps for signage locations

• Coordinate with internal teams for quick conflict resolution

• Perform field inspections to verify adherence to permits

• Address public inquiries regarding road use policies

Requirements:

• Completion of a Civil Engineering Technology diploma

• Minimum five years of relevant work experience

• Proficient in software including AutoCAD and Google applications

• Excellent problem-solving and negotiation skills

• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and personal vehicle
