Join Imperial in Edmonton as a Lead Geoscientist specializing in Oil Sands Stratigraphy and Reservoir Characterization. Engage in strategic analysis to enhance mine performance and optimize oil sands development.
This key position requires expertise in stratigraphy, encompassing over 10 years in oil sands. You will lead advanced geological interpretation, engage with cross-functional teams, and develop strati graphic frameworks to improve our understanding of the McMurray Formation. Your insights will drive resource evaluation and drilling support, ensuring successful extraction strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead detailed strati graphic interpretations for oil sands deposits
• Develop 3D geological models to support reservoir understanding
• Integrate multidisciplinary data into unified geological frameworks
• Provide geological guidance for drilling programs and subsurface execution
• Assess geological uncertainty for improved resource assessments
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Geology or Geoscience, Master’s or PhD preferred
• 10+ years of oil sands and strati graphic analysis experience
• Proficiency in geological modeling and data integration
• Strong communication skills for technical presentations
• Professional Geoscience designation preferred
