Senior Oil Sands Geoscientist at Imperial

In this senior role, you will provide technical leadership and drive collaborative efforts within geoscience and engineering teams. Your experience will help interpret geologic complexities and develop high-resolution 3D geological models that inform operational decisions. Work alongside multidisciplinary teams while mentoring junior staff and engaging stakeholders to effectively communicate subsurface uncertainties.
Key Responsibilities:
• Mentor geoscientists and guide junior teams
• Lead strati graphic interpretation and correlation tasks
• Develop and refine 3D geological models for operations
• Integrate various subsurface data into geological frameworks
• Support drilling programs with well planning and recommendations
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Geology or Geoscience
• 10+ years of experience in oil sands geology
• Professional Geoscience designation preferred
• Expertise in McMurray Formation stratigraphy
• Proficient in geological modeling software like Petrel
