Partner Staffing on behalf of our Client, we’re seeking a motivated Project Manager to join our Edmonton team, leading diverse projects in the municipal water and wastewater sector across Northern Alberta. In this role, you’ll be at the forefront of business development, project leadership, and technical delivery, managing all phases from initial proposal to final close‑out.

Requirements What You’ll Do
  • Manage a portfolio of water and wastewater projects for towns, counties, municipal districts, and First Nations communities.
  • Lead planning, design, and technical execution, ensuring projects are completed efficiently and to the highest standards.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients, aligning with our service objectives and meeting expectations.
  • Oversee the preparation of technical reports, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with client needs.
  • Support business growth through proposal preparation, marketing efforts, and municipal sector business development.
  • Collaborate with the Regional Water Manager to develop business plans, resource strategies, and group growth initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education:

    Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Water Resources Engineering (or a related discipline). Master’s degree considered an asset.
  • Professional Designation:
    Eligible for registration, or currently registered, as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Alberta.
  • Project Management Expertise:
    Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in municipal water/wastewater design and delivery, with at least 3 years in a project management role. PMP designation is an asset.
  • Technical Knowledge:
    Strong understanding of water and wastewater treatment systems, pumping stations, distribution/collection networks, and applicable municipal and provincial standards.
  • Business Development

    Skills:

    Experience preparing proposals, building client relationships, and identifying new opportunities within the municipal sector.
  • Leadership:
    Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, mentor junior staff, and foster collaboration across departments.
  • Communication & Organization:
    Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a dynamic work environment.
  • Technology:
    Proficiency with engineering design software, project management tools, and Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and hydraulic modeling software is a plus.
  • Field

    Experience:

    Familiarity with construction administration, site inspections, and contractor coordination.
