Instrumentation & Controls Designer

Join Capital Engineering as an Instrumentation and Controls Designer in Edmonton, Alberta. This in-office role focuses on developing high-quality control systems for diverse industrial projects.

We're seeking an experienced designer with 7+ years in industrial environments, particularly in oil and gas, mining, power generation, or heavy industry. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create detailed designs, including schematics and panel layouts. Your expertise will ensure compliance with industry standards while supporting system commissioning and project documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop instrumentation and control system designs including P&IDs and loop diagrams

• Assist with material selection and procurement for I&C equipment

• Collaborate with engineering teams for integrated control solutions

• Perform design reviews and support project commissioning activities

• Ensure project compliance with industry codes and client requirements

Requirements:

• 7+ years of relevant industrial experience

• Diploma in Instrumentation Engineering Technology or related field

• Proficient in designing control systems for industrial facilities

• Knowledge of PLCs and DCSs

• Familiarity with design software such as AutoCAD
