Senior Environmental Engineer

The City of Edmonton is looking for a Senior Environmental Engineer/Scientist to oversee a critical portfolio within its Contaminated Site Management Program. This role involves collaboration with various departments, prioritizing site assessments, and strategic financial reporting. Your in-depth knowledge of Alberta’s regulations and remediation practices will guide project planning and execution.
Key Responsibilities:
• Evaluate environmental data to prioritize contaminated sites
• Prepare technical reports, remediation designs, and risk assessments
• Act as the internal expert for capital and operating projects
• Determine site-specific environmental criteria and guidelines
• Lead procurement processes and manage external consultant contracts
Requirements:
• Undergraduate Degree in Environmental Engineering or related field
• At least seven years of experience in environmental assessments
• Membership in a relevant professional association
• Strong analytical and judgment skills
• Proven leadership experience in technical projects
