CIMA+ is seeking an experienced Intermediate Transportation Planning Engineer to join our multidisciplinary mobility team in Calgary. You will lead and contribute to projects that shape how communities move throughout Calgary, Alberta, and Western Canada. Working alongside transportation planners, traffic engineers, designers, and data specialists, you will help deliver innovative, sustainable, and practical mobility solutions for both public and private sector clients.

Success in this role will be measured by your ability to deliver technically excellent work, build trusted client relationships, mentor emerging professionals, and contribute to the continued growth of our transportation practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Delivery
- Lead and support transportation planning studies including transportation master plans, functional planning studies, transportation impact assessments, geometric assessments, parking studies, safety reviews, and operational analyses.
- Manage scope, schedule, budget, quality, and technical delivery.
- Technical Leadership
- Analyze multimodal transportation data, travel demand, land use, and development scenarios.
- Develop practical transportation solutions supported by engineering analysis.
- Prepare and review technical reports, memoranda, exhibits, and presentations.
- Client & Business Development
- Build strong relationships with municipal and private-sector clients.
- Support proposal preparation, interviews, and business development initiatives.
- Leadership
- Mentor junior staff through technical guidance, project delivery, and client development.
Ideal candidates should demonstrate a combination of the core qualifications outlined for this role and be eager to learn, adapt, and develop new skills as industry trends evolve.
- Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Alberta or be able to apply for this status.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in transportation engineering, with a strong portfolio of project delivery and client engagement.
