Outdoor Environmental Engineering Technologist

In this dynamic role within Waste Services, you will assist with landfill gas and groundwater systems, conducting vital monitoring at the Edmonton Waste Management Centre and other sites. A diploma in Civil or Chemical Engineering Technology is essential, alongside two years of hands-on experience in waste management. Your work will actively contribute to safety and environmental compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support landfill gas management and monitoring systems

• Perform groundwater measurements and gas composition readings

• Troubleshoot environmental system issues independently

• Accurately record data from field inspections

• Maintain laboratory equipment and participate in safety audits

Requirements:

• Diploma in Engineering Technology required

• Two years experience in landfill operations preferred

• Familiarity with environmental regulations and standards

• Strong data entry and organizational skills

• Valid Alberta Class 5 driver’s license necessary
