Job Purpose
The Senior Financial Accountant is responsible for providing support with the day-to-day accounting functions of the organization.
Responsibilities
Prepare month, and year-end financial statements, which includes month-end reconciliations, journal entries, and coding.
Ensure account reconciliations and/or working papers are complete in a timely manner with appropriate follow-up on discrepancies (Prepaids & deposits, capital assets, bank, etc.).Complete accurate and timely government remittances (GST reconciliations & filing).Provide financial information and regulatory reporting to the leadership team by analyzing accounting data and preparing reports for strategic decision making.
Complete ad-hoc financial information requests from finance and operational departments.
Prepare weekly bank reconciliations.
Create weekly payment runs and act as main contact for vendor communications.
Prepare weekly Accounts Payable forecasts and support cash planning.
Prepare weekly LPI reporting for management team.
Maintain current knowledge of regulatory changes and impacts on the organization.
Compile ad-hoc financial information requests from finance and operational departments.
Identify and assist with implementation of process efficiencies.
Daily inventory postings, analysis, consumption, and reconciliation.
Update FX rates weekly.
Prepare and submit monthly Stats Canada reports.
Support external audit requirements.
Support annual inventory count process.
Maintain current knowledge of regulatory changes and impacts on the organization.
Support Chief Financial Officer and Senior Financial Accountant with planning, analysis and financial reporting.
Create and maintain digital filing structure for corporate and legal documents.
Identify and assist with implementation of process efficiencies.
