Job Description Accounting Generalist
Join Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, where our Finance team plays a key role in delivering exceptional guest experiences. We’re looking for an Accounting Generalist who is detail-oriented, organized, and passionate about supporting daily financial operations in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
What you will be doing:
Provide professional, friendly, and consistent service to internal and external stakeholdersSupport daily accounting operations including accounts payable, balance sheet reconciliations, inventory control, banking/cash management, and credit & client billingReview and code invoices; match with purchase orders as neededInvestigate and resolve vendor inquiries promptlyScan and submit invoices, bank direct debits, and related documents to the Centralized Accounting Service Delivery teamMonitor Vendor Account Issue Log and ensure timely follow-upPrepare cheque runs and electronic payments following established controlsMaintain self-cashiering machine transactions dailyPrepare daily bank depositsProvide cashiering support to colleagues and retail tenants as neededComplete month-end close procedures, including occasional extended hoursAssist with daily and weekly Credit and Treasury tasksSupport finance leadership with ad hoc projects and special assignmentsAdhere to all safety, sanitation, departmental policies, and service standardsPerform other duties as requiredQualifications
Your experience and skills include:
Previous accounting experience is an assetStrong working knowledge of Windows and ExcelAbility to work accurately, independently, and meet deadlinesExcellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skillsDemonstrated tact, diplomacy, and respect for confidentialityStrong problem-solving abilities; highly responsible and reliableAbility to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and collaborate effectively with the teamCommitment to maintaining a calm and courteous demeanor when supporting colleagues and guestsVisa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
