Job Description

Accounting Generalist

Join Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, where our Finance team plays a key role in delivering exceptional guest experiences. We’re looking for an Accounting Generalist who is detail-oriented, organized, and passionate about supporting daily financial operations in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

What you will be doing:

  • Provide professional, friendly, and consistent service to internal and external stakeholders
  • Support daily accounting operations including accounts payable, balance sheet reconciliations, inventory control, banking/cash management, and credit & client billing
  • Review and code invoices; match with purchase orders as needed
  • Investigate and resolve vendor inquiries promptly
  • Scan and submit invoices, bank direct debits, and related documents to the Centralized Accounting Service Delivery team
  • Monitor Vendor Account Issue Log and ensure timely follow-up
  • Prepare cheque runs and electronic payments following established controls
  • Maintain self-cashiering machine transactions daily
  • Prepare daily bank deposits
  • Provide cashiering support to colleagues and retail tenants as needed
  • Complete month-end close procedures, including occasional extended hours
  • Assist with daily and weekly Credit and Treasury tasks
  • Support finance leadership with ad hoc projects and special assignments
  • Adhere to all safety, sanitation, departmental policies, and service standards
  • Perform other duties as required
  • Qualifications

    Your experience and skills include:

  • Previous accounting experience is an asset
  • Strong working knowledge of Windows and Excel
  • Ability to work accurately, independently, and meet deadlines
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated tact, diplomacy, and respect for confidentiality
  • Strong problem-solving abilities; highly responsible and reliable
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and collaborate effectively with the team
  • Commitment to maintaining a calm and courteous demeanor when supporting colleagues and guests
  • Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
