Position: Project Accountant - Contract

Project Accountant

Primary Function

Reporting to the Finance Manager - West, the Project Accountant is responsible for analyzing business unit or project financial activities and results, and supervision as required of Finance Team members

Remuneration
$80,000 to $95,000 depending upon experience

Responsibilities

Knowledge and understanding of sales agreements and contracts

Ensure jobs are properly set up, maintained, and closed upon completion

Signing off on job set-ups, budgets, rate tables, change management documents and job closes

Client cost reporting

Month end review, adjustments, accruals and revenue recognition

Maintaining work files

Setting up and maintaining Job Rate Table(s)

Ad hoc reporting requirements as necessary

Support OC Manager, Project Manager, and Sr. Project Accountant as required

Analyzing Over/Under and SG&A accounts

Analyzing job margins

Variance reporting

Providing cost analysis and reports to measure actual to planned job progress for forecasting

Provide accounting support

Other duties as required

Education/Training Requirements

5-7 years relevant work experience

Post-secondary diploma or certification from accredited college or technical/business school.

CPA designation preferred

Proven proficiency within an accounting or finance function within an industrial contracting company

Professional accounting experience including job costing, financial analysis and financial reporting

Previous experience with construction, and/or manufacturing industries would be a definite asset.

Previous experience preparing financial statements would be an asset.
