Financial Planning Manager Fort Saskatchewan

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Financial Planning Manager oversees the City’s annual operating and capital budget development. You will analyze financial information, prepare variance reports, and support informed decision-making with robust presentations. The role involves assessing taxation impacts and enhancing financial sustainability through effective strategies and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and analyze financial submissions for accuracy and compliance

• Develop financial variance reports and decision-support packages

• Create annual property tax rates and related bylaws

• Assess impacts of capital projects on budget and taxation

• Maintain internal controls for effective financial processes

Requirements:

• University degree in business, accounting, or finance

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in budgeting and financial reporting

• Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics GP and Microsoft 365

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent supervisory and leadership capabilities
