Planner II, Subdivision; Competition
Location: Stony Plain
Parkland County has an opportunity for apermanent, full-time Planner II, Subdivisionpositioninthe Planning & Development Services department.
Reporting to the Manager, Subdivision Planning, The Planner II, Subdivisionis responsible for managing, reviewing, and providing recommendations on subdivision planning projects. This may include leading applications for conceptual schemes, subdivisions, redistricting, development agreements, and naming and addressing, as well as advancing non-statutory plans, policies, reports, and studies. The role also involves offering technical advice, promoting continuous improvement of programs and policies, and representing the County on various committees.
Additionally, this position provides sound planning advice to leaders and supports a range of planning projects, issues, and applications.
The ideal candidate for this position will have the following:
Bachelor’s Degreein Planningor a related discipline.
AMaster’s Degreeis considered an asset.
Eligibility for membership with the Canadian Institute of Planners and Registered Professional Planner designation in the Alberta Professional Planners Institute is desired.
Two (2) to four (4) yearsofexperience witha strong understanding of the application of Provincial and Municipal planning policies, legislation, processes, procedures, and Statutory Planning documents in the Alberta context.
Proven ability to deliver responsive, respectful, and solutions‑oriented service; taking initiativetoidentifyand resolve problems.
Strong skills in presentations to Council, communityassociationsand government departments.
Ability to manage time effectively, juggle multiple deadlines and tasks, and to work within irregular and tight timelines.
Possession of a validclass 5driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
The total rewards package for this position includes:
A startingannualsalary of $91,400 to $102,800, with a maximum earning potential for this pay range of $115,600, based on a 35-hour work week and option to join the Earned Day Off Program.
