Serve as a member of the Otipemisiwak Métis Government Judicial Tribunal in the North Saskatchewan River Territory. This role focuses on ethical decision-making and community representation within Métis governance.
Candidates should have a solid connection to the Métis Nation in Alberta and demonstrate fair-mindedness in their judgments. As a Judicial Tribunal Member, you will engage in resolving disputes related to citizenship and governance.
Your role is crucial in ensuring that the laws and principles of the Métis Nation are upheld impartially and transparently.
Key Responsibilities:
• Resolve disputes on Métis citizenship and leadership
• Apply and interpret Métis Government legislation
• Oversee actions of the Métis Government and its institutions
• Deliver transparent and accountable decisions
• Foster inclusivity and consider diverse perspectives
Requirements:
• Citizenship in the Métis Nation within Alberta
• Minimum age of 25 at appointment
• No criminal convictions without a pardon
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Knowledge or experience in legal processes
Contribute to the fair and just governance of the Métis Nation through your role as a member of the Judicial Tribunal.
