In this role with the City of Edmonton, you will be responsible for inspecting residential constructions, conducting plans reviews, and ensuring adherence to safety regulations. Collaboration with diverse stakeholders is essential as you contribute to innovative solutions and the development of safety reports. Key Responsibilities:
• Review permit applications for compliance with local bylaws
• Conduct field inspections at all construction stages
• Identify violations and manage permit issuance processes
• Coordinate with various municipal units and agencies
• Offer clear interpretations of building codes to various partners
Requirements:
• Completion of 12th grade or relevant trade certification
• Five years’ construction experience or related college diploma
• Active registration as a Safety Codes Officer with Alberta
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Strong proficiency in municipal data systems like POSSE
