Municipal Accountability Advisor

Elevate municipal governance in Alberta as a full-time Municipal Accountability Advisor based in Edmonton. Utilize your legislative expertise to enhance compliance and accountability.

Reporting to the Manager of Municipal Accountability, you will engage with municipal leaders, aid compliance with the Municipal Government Act, and assess governance procedures. Your work will ensure municipalities construct robust frameworks for accountability, benefiting local governance. As part of the Municipal Sustainability and Accountability team, you'll help provincial leaders tackle significant challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design processes to improve municipal legislative compliance

• Provide resources for achieving governance accountability

• Collaborate with municipal administrations for sustainable solutions

• Advise on governance matters applying the Municipal Government Act

• Investigate and address municipal compliance concerns

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field

• 4 years working with Municipal Government Act

• Certification in local government is a plus

• Experience in public policy analysis

• Strong skills in project coordination
