The Court and Justice Services (CJS) Division provides a wide range of resolution and court services for people involved in legal disputes. In collaboration with the courts of Alberta, Court and Justice Services provide various programs and services including educating and helping Albertans finding solutions for legal issues, navigating the court system, offering programs at no cost or a nominal charge, and administrative support to all courts in Alberta.

Reporting to the Manager, Court Policy, you'll have the opportunity to support senior and executive management by addressing action requests and providing vital information to the public and other stakeholders. You will engage in a variety of short- and long-term research projects on government initiatives, policies, programs, and services that impact court and resolution services in Alberta.
As a Policy and Research Analyst, your role will include, but is not limited to
:
- Conducting research and synthesizing timely, accurate and complete information to support recommendations to senior and executive management, including the Minister of Justice and Solicitor General, through briefing notes, memos, meeting agendas, reports, policies, and proposals.
- Working with team members and colleagues from other divisions and departments, and stakeholders in an advisory capacity.
- Accessing a diverse network of contacts and conducting research to respond directly to telephone calls, emails, and letters regarding resolution and court services operations, procedures, services, and programs.
- Defining problems and developing recommendations and alternatives to help with executive decision making, policy development, operational effectiveness, and operational and strategic planning.
- Participating in project coordination and the implementation of initiatives within the division, across the Ministry, and with other provincial government departments.
