Join the Government of Alberta as a Policy Advisor focused on Financial Institutions, based in Edmonton. Advance Alberta's financial services through strategic policy analysis and legislative frameworks.
The Policy Advisor will work within the Financial Sector Regulation and Policy Division, guiding the safety and innovation of Alberta's financial services sector. You will engage with stakeholders, analyze policy issues, and recommend frameworks that support government priorities while fostering financial technology growth. Collaborate closely with Alberta credit unions, ATB Financial, and other key players in the sector.
Key Responsibilities:
• Analyze and recommend innovative policy and regulatory frameworks
• Provide strategic advice to support government initiatives
• Engage stakeholders on financial services sector issues
• Participate in discussions with diverse ministries and regulators
• Support financial services firms advancing in Alberta
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, or related field
• Minimum four years of experience in policy analysis
• Understanding of public policy and legislative processes
• Strong analytical and communication skills
• Project management capabilities for complex initiatives
