Physiotherapist Responsibilities
- Thorough Assessments: Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical conditions and medical history to develop personalized treatment plans.
- Evidence-Based Treatments: Provide evidence-based physiotherapy treatments, including manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, and modalities, to help patients recover from injuries and improve mobility.
- Collaborative Care: Collaborate with other healthcare professionals within our multi-disciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care and optimal treatment outcomes.
- Progress Monitoring: Monitor patients' progress and adjust treatment plans as needed to achieve rehabilitation goals.
- Patient
Education:
Educate patients on injury prevention, self‑management techniques, and home exercise programs to support their recovery. - Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date patient records, including treatment plans and progress reports.
- Ethical Standards: Adhere to all professional, ethical, and legal standards, ensuring patient confidentiality and privacy.
- Continuous Learning: Stay informed about advancements in physiotherapy techniques and participate in professional development activities.
- Licensed Physiotherapist: Licensed Physiotherapist in Alberta, Canada, with current registration in good standing.
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited institution.
- Experience: Proven experience in providing effective physiotherapy treatments and rehabilitation services.
- Clinical
Skills:
Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills, with the ability to create individualized treatment plans. - Communication
Skills:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients and work effectively within a team. - Empathy and Compassion: Empathy, compassion, and a genuine interest in helping patients achieve their recovery goals.
- Commitment to Learning: A commitment to continuous learning and staying updated on the latest research and trends in physiotherapy.
- Organizational
Skills:
Strong organizational skills to manage caseload efficiently and maintain accurate records. - Additional Modalities: Knowledge of additional modalities such as acupuncture, massage therapy, or chiropractic care is a plus.
- WCB and MVA Knowledge: Familiarity with Workers' Compensation Board (WCB) and Motor Vehicle Accidents (MVA) processes.
