Cardiovascular Perfusionist

Position: Full Time Cardiovascular Perfusionist Role
Become a key part of Edmonton’s innovative cardiac team as a Full Time Cardiovascular Perfusionist. You’ll manage critical cardiopulmonary support and work with advanced medical technologies.

This position is set within Canada’s largest VAD implant center, where you will support patients of all ages requiring lifesaving therapies. Functioning in a hybrid operating room, you will utilize your skills in ECLS and other advanced modalities while engaging in educational opportunities within a teaching facility. This role promises growth and collaboration among specialized professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute cardiopulmonary bypass management effectively

• Administer various medications and gases as needed

• Collaborate with physicians on patient care plans

• Oversee extracorporeal life support procedures

• Maintain rigorous documentation during medical procedures

Requirements:

• Completion of an accredited perfusion program necessary

• Active or eligible CSCP registration required

• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification

• Excellent interpersonal skills needed

• Willingness to work on-call shifts
