Role Summary
As a Residential CRSW, you’ll make a real difference every day. You’ll assist with routines like meals, cleaning, or personal care, encourage new skills, and support community activities.

Your role is to create a safe, respectful, and supportive environment where adults with disabilities can live with dignity, independence, and connection, with proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) to support effective communication.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with daily living: meals, cleaning, laundry, shopping, and appointments

Support personal care: hygiene, dressing, mobility, and other needs

Encourage independence and teach new skills

Communicate effectively using American Sign Language (ASL) and other communication supports

Support community participation: recreation, activities, social outings

Promote safety and healthy choices at home and in the community

Follow individual support plans and program procedures

Maintain accurate records, notes, and reports

Communicate clearly with supervisors, families, and team members

Respond to challenging situations professionally and according to ICE procedures

Respect the rights, dignity, and culture of each individual

Work collaboratively to create a safe, positive environment

Qualifications

Strong communication skills: listening, speaking, and basic writing

Problem-solving skills and professionalism in stressful situations

Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) — Required

Good organization and time management

Experience in caregiving, teaching, or support work is an asset (not required)

Clear Vulnerable Sector Police Check (within 6 months)

Basic First Aid with CPR Level A (or willingness to obtain)

Two work-related references

Reliable, punctual, and flexible for shift work

Some programs require a valid driver’s license, vehicle, and $2M insurance
