Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Health Care Aide / Companion to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and private homes. Your primary focus will be on delivering high-quality patient companionship while ensuring the comfort and well-being of those you serve. This position requires a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for seniors and individuals with disabilities.
Responsibilities- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients
- Assist with personal care activities as required
- Prepare meals and assist with feeding when necessary
- Perform light housekeeping, laundry, and household tasks
- Provide medication reminders as directed
- Accompany clients to appointments, shopping, and community activities
- Assist with mobility and transfers when appropriate
- Monitor client well-being and report concerns to management
- Maintain accurate documentation and communication records
- Follow client care plans, company policies, and confidentiality requirements
- Promote a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for clients
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
- Valid Government-issued Photo
- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence
- Reliable vehicle with valid registration and insurance
- Current Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Check
- Current First Aid & CPR Certification
- Strong English communication skills
- Professional, compassionate, and client-focused approach
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable
- Health Care Aide (HCA) Certificate
- Personal Support Worker (PSW) Certificate
- Nursing Student or healthcare-related education
- Experience supporting seniors or individuals with disabilities
- Dementia care experience or training
- Medication assistance experience
- Additional language skills
- Flexible scheduling, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Travel between client locations may be required
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, standing, and assisting clients with mobility
