Looking for a more balanced, community-focused practice where each day brings something different? Westview Hospital in Stony Plain is seeking an experienced Respiratory Therapist I to support our Emergency Department. This opportunity is well suited for an experienced RT looking for part-time hours and improved work-life balance, while still maintaining a meaningful and engaging practice.

In this role, you’ll assess patients, develop and implement respiratory care plans, and respond to a wide range of respiratory needs in the Emergency Department. You’ll support the use of diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory equipment and collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary team to deliver timely, high-quality care.

The RT will also provide respiratory support to the inpatient acute care ward. Westview Hospital’s Emergency Department serves a diverse patient population, offering a fast-paced environment with a strong sense of teamwork and collaboration. You’ll also play an important role in patient and staff education, helping ensure safe and effective use of respiratory therapies and equipment, while contributing to positive patient outcomes.

Description:

As a Respiratory Therapist I, you will assess patients (clients, resident), develop and implement respiratory therapy care plans and monitor their progress. You will be responsible for various diagnostic and therapeutic equipment and interventions. You will collaborate with various clinical teams and groups to enhance clinical outcomes. You will provide training and assist health care providers in the use and care of respiratory equipment as well as educate patients and their families regarding diseases, medications, equipment and treatments.

Qualifications:

Active or eligible registration with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Alberta (CRTA).
