We provide Advanced Life Support (ALS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and Interfacility Transfer (IFT) services across 22 rural and 2 metropolitan locations in Alberta, supporting rural and regional healthcare systems through safe, reliable, and high-quality patient transfers.

Associated Ambulance is currently accepting expressions of interest for Emergency Medical Responders (EMRs) to join our Interfacility Transfer (IFT) teams based out of Red Deer AB or Acheson. EMRs play a vital role in ensuring safe, compassionate, and professional patient transfers between healthcare facilities while acting as patient advocates and collaborating closely with hospital staff and allied healthcare professionals.

This is an excellent opportunity to start or grow your EMS career in a supportive IFT environment, build strong foundational skills, gain consistent patient contact, and develop a solid understanding of healthcare systems, transport medicine, and patient flow.

Safely operating EMS vehicles in accordance with company policy and road safety regulations

Transporting patients between hospitals, care facilities, and specialty treatment centers

Working collaboratively with sending and receiving healthcare teams to ensure continuity of care

EMRs spend extended periods standing, walking, reaching, crouching, and bending throughout their shifts. The role requires lifting and transferring patients and equipment, sometimes in confined or awkward positions. EMRs may be exposed to bodily fluids, chemicals, needle‑stick risks, weather conditions, and other occupational hazards common in patient transport and healthcare environments.

If you are looking to jump‑start your EMS career in a patient‑centered, team‑oriented Interfacility Transfer environment, we invite you to join the Associated Ambulance Team.

Hiring in a casual EMR capacity is contingent upon operational needs at the time of hire and may change based on service demands.
